The 1st floor is noisy!

Bill writes:

Can staff at the library please encourage students to follow basic
library courtesies? It has been quite difficult studying in the
library the past few weeks because of individuals talking to one
another in normal to loud voices, people talking on their cell phones,
etc. I have witnessed library staff completely ignoring all of this
and it is pretty discouraging.

Dave Green, Associate University Librarian for Collections and Information Services replies:

Hello Bill. I will talk with our reference coordinator and the reference librarians and ask them to take a more active role in helping reduce this problem. Thanks for voicing your concerns.

That would be great if that happens. I no longer go to the library for that very reason

I would have to agree with the noise on the 1st floor being out of control. I prefer to study on the first level and it has been increasingly harder to do so lately. Also, sometimes the staff are being too loud and disruptive too.
